So what’s happening on the wedding cake scene at the moment? Are there any standout trends? What’s everyone doing with their wedding cakes?
Well according to Paris Cutler from Planet Cake there really are no specific trends at the moment! Wedding cakes are still a really personal choice and with so many styles, colours and flavours to choose from, your options are pretty much endless.
The 3 tiered extended wedding cake is still a really popular choice along with black and white cakes.
One thing Paris has noticed though is that more “happy” colours seem to be coming through these days. Yellows, Oranges and other brights are livening up the cake table.
White wedding cakes with a single contrasting colour, and cakes decorated with fresh flowers retain a timeless appeal and will suit every wedding style from the most formal to garden or beach weddings.
polkadot.com.au list their most popular wedding cake flavours as: Vanilla bean and White Chocolate • Queen of Sheba Chocolate torte • Hazelnut Ricotta torte • Lemon and Lavender with Lemon Buttercream • Hazelnut Praline • White Chocolate Espresso • Raspberries and Cream • Chocolate Raspberry Liqueur • Banana, Cranberry and white Chocolate • Tropical Carrot and Coconut.
